American Redware Plate

The earliest American redware was made in Jamestown, Virginia circa 1630. The abundance of clay accounted for the great production in the American colonies. Today, Henderson's Redware of Bangor, Maine, reproduces redware. All work is done by hand. This 9-inch plate is attractively decorated with a food-safe yellow glaze. Please note that designs may vary as each is hand decorated. All of Henderson's Redware is functional within the context of its historic usage.
