"Christopher Newport"

One of the books in the Just in Time Biographies series, this one tells the story of Captain Christopher Newport.  Though not as well known in the Jamestown story as John Smith, Christopher Newport was an important figure.  He was the captain of the Susan Constant and was in charge of the fleet of three ships that sailed to the New World in 1607.  This biography covers his early life to his last voyage and death.  Includes many photographs and period prints and maps.
