"Guns for General Washington"

Nineteen-year-old Will Knox is frustrated with life in General Washington's army.  The men have been under siege for months and the war is at a standsill.  Even worse, the Americans have no artillery to defend themselves against the British navy.  Will's brother, Henry, devises a plan: They will trek across three hundred miles of wilderness to bring 183 cannons from Fort Ticonderoga back to Boston.  Everyone says it is impossible.  But as rumors of a new British offensive fly, Will and Henry must spur on the men who joined them in order to get back to Boston in time to save the American army.  Relying heavily on first-person accounts this is a stirring re-telling of this arduous journey.
