Hornbook and Booklet

The first book that colonial children learned from was not a book at all. The hornbook was a piece of wood with a handle. A thin sheet of sheer horn was then attached to the front. On that was printed the alphabet, letter combinations, Roman numerals and the Lord's prayer. This miniature hornbook is 5" long and comes with an informational booklet.
