The Founding Fathers had worked hard during the long hot summer of 1787.  When they were done the United States of America had a new government.  Their work, however, was not finished.  In March of 1789 the new Congress met and began to realize a set of amendments to the Constituion which would guarantee basic rights.  This book includes a timeline of events, a glossery and a list of additional resources.  Part of the "American Milestones" series.  Meets National Educational standards.
