Pocahontas Earrings
SKU59337
Pocahontas, the daughter of Chief Powhatan, married John Rolfe in 1614. In 1616, she and John and their child traveled to England to promote the Jamestown Settlement. She died there before she could return to Virginia. These earrings are modeled on a pair in the APVA Preservation Virginia collection that have been in the Rolfe family with a tradition of belonging to Pocahontas. These are somewhat smaller than the originals which were made of mussel shell, silver and steel. Pierced. Comes in a gift box with informational text on the back.
