This drummer boy, porcelain doll called Benjamin, is dressed appropriately for his time period. Drummer boys of the American Revolution were an important part of military units. Boys between the ages of 12-16 played their fife and drum above the roar of the cannon. On the order of officers, they played different tempos that would tell the soldiers how fast to march, what direction they should turn and whether they should attack or retreat. This doll is designed and costumed by Mary Michaud. Each is signed and dated.
